OPAF – Gentle and effective treatment for your horse

A powerful tool in working for your horse's health

As a horse owner, you know how important it is for your horse to thrive – both physically and mentally. When a horse gets injured, becomes sore, stiff or has difficulty moving, we want quick and effective help – preferably without side effects or a long recovery time.

What is OPAF?

OPAF (Oscillating Pressure Acoustic Field) is a new and modern treatment that we now offer to horses of all ages and training levels. The treatment uses gentle, high-frequency pressure waves to stimulate the tissue deep within and initiate the body's own healing processes - completely without the use of medication and without discomfort for the horse.

OPAF is particularly suitable for performance horses, older horses and horses in rehabilitation, where the gentle treatment can contribute to faster recovery, increased mobility and better well-being.

An effective, safe and well-documented method – that can make a noticeable difference.

What can OPAF help with?

The treatment is particularly effective for:
• Muscle tension and stiffness
• Chronic and acute tendon and ligament injuries
• Scar tissue and reduced elasticity in connective tissue
• Mild to moderate osteoarthritis
• Rehabilitation after injuries

How is the treatment done?

A small applicator is placed on the area to be treated. Via a contact gel, the high-frequency pressure waves are transmitted to the tissue, triggering the body's own healing mechanisms.

How does OPAF work in the tissue?

The pressure waves set the fluids in the extracellular space in motion. This creates microscopic displacements in the fascia and matrix – like an internal, gentle massage, completely without trauma.

The treatment balances the natural inflammation process:
– Down regulates harmful, chronic inflammation
– Promotes regenerative activity via IGF-1 and fibroblasts
– Increases anti-inflammatory signaling substances
– Creates a shift from inflammatory to reparative tissue state
– Prevents scar tissue formation and promotes organized healing

Benefits of OPAF treatment

  • Non-invasive – Well tolerated by all horses
    • Natural healing – Stimulates the body's own processes
    • Effective for both acute and chronic conditions
    • Improves blood circulation
    • Balances inflammation and promotes faster healing
